We all know we have a waste problem – and it’s not going anywhere - so we need to look at more creative and innovative ways to deal with it.
Let’s take coffee - Australians consume six billion cups of coffee every year – producing 180,000 tonnes of coffee grounds – 93% of these end up in landfill. Once there, they decompose and produce methane, a greenhouse gas 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
On the plus side- coffee is fantastic for the skin. Coffee grounds don’t dissolve in water which makes them an excellent exfoliant and great at scrubbing away dead skin cells. ...So, we decided to collect used coffee grounds and create a range of body products that nourish and smooth the skin and contain only plant based ingredients - no SLS / SLES, no palm oil, synthetic fragrances or formaldehyde.
And we give a portion of our profits to some of the many magnificent organisations that work directly to conserve, advocate, rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals that are mistreated, exploited and unwanted - so that they can continue their great work.
For us, this is the ONLY way to do business.
